After six years, Shadows House is nearing completion

In this year's most recent issue of Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine, it was revealed that the "Shadows House" manga, created by the duo So-ma-to, has entered its final arc with the closure of its 200th Chapter. However, the manga will go on hiatus due to the illness of one of its authors, and will resume until the August 22 edition of the magazine.

Shadows House

The manga "Shadows House" was released in Weekly Young Jump magazine in September 2018. The work inspired an anime adaptation that premiered in Japan in April 2021. The second season of the anime, also produced by CloverWorks, premiered in July 2022.

The story of "Shadows House" is set in a dark and mysterious mansion inhabited by a group of enigmatic nobles known as the Shadow Family. With no visible features, these aristocrats use living dolls to act as their "faces". Kate and Emilico are one of those mistress and servant couples, living in their own little world and learning from each other day by day. But in a house full of closed doors, living according to rules of unknown origin, how long can their peacefully blissful existence really last?

Fan reactions have been mixed, with comments such as:

  • «I'm glad it's over soon."
  • «I'm in the middle of the second season of the anime and I love it. I hope this will encourage the rest of the story."
  • «Do you say that to mean that it's on the decline and you're glad it's over before it gets worse, or are you glad it ends on a good note instead of dragging on unnecessarily?"
  • «Let's just say that sometimes it's good when the mysterious characters remain mysterious throughout the series."
  • «I'm glad to know that I wasn't the only one who was disappointed."
  • «I enjoyed the anime and I hope the adaptation is complete."

With the final arc in sight and the temporary pause due to the author's illness, fans of "Shadows House" are eagerly awaiting the outcome of this enigmatic and captivating story.
