NARUTO and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will have a crossover

Through a press release, publishers IDW Publishing and Viz Media announced a collaboration between the franchises of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" (known as "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" in Latin America) and "NARUTO", in a comic book that will be released in four separate installments. That's right, it is a Western publication that will be written by Caleb Goellner (Sonic the Hedgehog) and drawn by Hendry Prasetya (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), while the first issue will be available on November 13.

The story is described as follows:

  • It's the coolest ninja showdown you could have dreamed of, if you'd dared to! The Half-Shell Heroes meet the host of the Nine-Tailed Fox in the crossover that everyone will be talking about. When teenage reporter April O'Neil has a clandestine meeting with Tsunade, the leader of the Hidden Leaf Village, she attracts the attention of Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi. However, they are not the only ones who wonder what the two women were talking about.
  • The sinister Foot Clan has their own interest in April's visit, as they believe she may possess valuable information about the mutation research being conducted by scientist Baxter Stockman. With April caught between the forces of the Hidden Blade Village and the Foot Clan, it can't be long before the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show up to lend her a hand!

Although Masashi Kishimoto, creator of "NARUTO," doesn't seem to have any personal involvement in this project, Caleb Goellner seems thrilled to take on the job of portraying one of shonen's most popular modern heroes. In a recent interview with IGN, he explained that he was "honored" to be entrusted with the project. "I'm excited and honored to work with the best talent in comics and manga to introduce the ninja created by my heroes in a massive adventure full of mutagens and chakra for fans around the world," Goellner stated.
