The Korean webtoon “With Vengeance, Sincerely, Your Broken Saintess” will be adapted in July as a light anime.
The production company Animation ID announced on May 2 that the popular webtoon Kizu Darake Seijo Yori Hōfuku wo Komete (English title: With Vengeance, Sincerely, Your Broken Saintess), created by SORAJIMA and Aminohada, will have an adaptation as a light anime that will premiere in July 2025.
This production is based on a vertically reading webtoon that debuted in August 2022 in Japan through Comico, and was released in English through Pocket Comics in October of the same year.
A first-rate cast for a betrayal drama
The story follows Rua, a saintly candidate with the ability to heal… transferring the wounds of others to their own body. Because of this, she is marginalized and nicknamed the “Holy Fall“, although she always had the support of her friend Arianne. Everything changes when Rua saves Commander Garrett from certain death, almost sacrificing his life. Upon awakening, he discovers that the credit was attributed to Arianne, thus revealing his betrayal.
Devastated and aimless, the appearance of the second prince offers her an unexpected way out: to live like a villain. What direction will Rua take now that she has lost her faith in those she loved most?
A technical team specialized in light anime
The series will be directed by Chisaki at IMAGICA Infos Studios/Imageworks Studio. Yūichi Imaizumi will be in charge of the sound direction, while Hiroki Nozaki and Airi Kobayashi will handle the sound effects. The music will be composed by onoken, and the production will be supervised by Kazuya Takahashi.

What is a “light anime”?
This animation format, also called “light anime“, is characterized by having a more simplified visual style, which allows reducing costs and speeding up production. Animation ID has previously worked with this style in titles such as Lockdown Zone: Level X, Maarui Kanojo to Zannen na Kareshi and Moriarty’s Perfect Crime.
With a plot full of drama, betrayal, and redemption, this anime promises to capture the attention of fans of dark and emotional stories. Its premiere is scheduled for July 2025, with a specific date yet to be confirmed.
