Jujutsu Kaisen’s new film will include a previously unreleased “Juju Stroll” special focusing on the school days of Gojō, Getō and Ieiri.
The makers of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime announced that the upcoming compilation film of the second season will include a special surprise for fans: a new mini anime titled “Juju Stroll” (Juju Sanpo). This original production will be screened exclusively in theaters and will star Satoru Gojō, Suguru Getō and Shoko Ieiri in their student days.
Release date and musical details
The film, titled Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death, compiles the “Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu” arc of the second season, which explores the past of the now enemies Gojō and Getō. Its premiere in Japan is scheduled for Thursday, May 30, and will feature a theme song performed by Tatsuya Kitani: an acoustic version of “Ao no Sumika,” the anime’s original opening song.
Upcoming international release confirmed
Distributor GKIDS announced that the film will hit theaters in the United States on July 16, available in both subtitled and English dubbing. For now, the date for its possible premiere in Europe and Latin America is unknown.
Remembering the road traveled
The anime’s second season aired between July and December 2023, covering both the Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu arc and the Shibuya Incident. The Crunchyroll platform was in charge of its simulcast broadcast and also offers the dubbed version in Spanish.
The new special “Juju Stroll” seeks to add a light and humorous touch that contrasts with the intensity of the main arcs, showing the more human and everyday side of the sorcerers when they still shared classroom and friendship.
The future of the franchise is already underway
Following the success of the anime and its first film Jujutsu Kaisen 0, released in Japan in December 2021, the franchise shows no signs of stopping. The MAPPA studio is already working on the adaptation of the next big arc of the manga: “Culling Game” (Shimetsu Kaiyū).
With Gege Akutami’s manga already finished since September 2024, the Jujutsu Kaisen universe continues to expand through anime, and this new mini episode promises to be a nostalgic nod that will delight both new viewers and veteran fans.
