The cycling action manga created by Tsuneharu Okusu will conclude with its 27th chapter on May 17.
Mangaka Tsuneharu Okusu announced through his official account on X/Twitter that his work Nigero Matsumoto! -100 Days Escape- will come to an end next Friday, May 17, with the publication of its chapter 27.
The series is published digitally through Shonen Jump+ and has been recognized for its unconventional approach to the sport of cycling, combining action, drama, and suspense elements.
What is Nigero Matsumoto about?
The protagonist, Matsumoto, is a former three-time consecutive champion of the University Road Cycling Championship in Japan. However, far from glory, he now works as a bicycle delivery man in order to survive. Just as he considers quitting cycling altogether, he is involved in a mysterious and shocking incident that puts him back on the wheels… but this time, for his life!
The story mixes speed, desperation, and redemption, presenting an emotional journey charged with adrenaline.
A quick end to an intense story
Nigero Matsumoto! debuted in July 2024 on the Shonen Jump+ platform. To date, three compilation volumes have been published, the last of them on March 4. Shueisha’s MANGA Plus service has distributed the series in English, allowing readers around the world to follow the story week by week.
With only 27 chapters, the work is shaping up to be one of the short but intense bets within the recent Shonen Jump+ catalog, proving that it does not take a long serialization to leave a mark.
Fans are already preparing to say goodbye to Matsumoto, a character who, beyond the track, pedaled against fate and never stopped fighting to move forward.
